In loving memory of

Kevin Farquhar
July 28, 1952 - March 29, 2019

Kevin Farquhar, 66, of Sarasota, FL, formerly of Portland Oregon, passed away at his home on March 29, 2019 after a very long battle with liver disease (2011) and dementia/encephalopathy (2016). He was preceded in death by his parents Kenneth and Teresa Farquhar, of Portland, Oregon. He leaves his wife, Jill Farquhar (McEwen); his daughter, Colleen Farquhar, of Bohemia, NY; his son, Scott Farquhar, of Los Angeles, CA; his sister, Donna Farquhar of Bend, Oregon and his grandson, Adrian Cangemi (Farquhar), of Bohemia, NY.

He loved music and playing his guitar. He was a great Dad and family man. He coached his children in basketball and introduced them to all kinds of music, which both came naturally to him. Kevin liked to go to the beach and to hike. He got into computer programming early on and computers became part of all of his jobs from then on. He also enjoyed playing the early computer games, like Space Quest, with his family. Gardening also was a love of his - planting trees, flowers, etc. - always getting his hands into the earth. He was easy going and liked being with his friends.

There is no service at this time. Funeral arrangements by: Sound Choice Cremations & Burials, Sarasota. FL. Memorial donations may be made to Tidewell Hospice of Sarasota, 5955 Rand Blvd., Sarasota, FL 34238.

"Kevin?s smile made everyone else smile. We remember the twinkle in his eyes when he had an idea. Kevin loved to have fun and He always had a positive outlook; A happy soul. No one could pick out a Christmas tree like Kevin or sell them at the church ?Tree sale? as chief of the trustees. We had some wonderful family Thanksgivings and beach vacations with our families and will always remember the fun times. We were always amazed at Kevin?s brain and how good he was at cards, lawn care, Christmas lights, music, games, coaching, grilling, and being a friend. We love you Kevin and our hearts and tears go out to you Jill, Colleen, and Scott. We will make sure Adrian knows All these wonderful memories. Love, Ron and Suzanne Forsberg"
