Wayne Zimdars
June 16, 1936 - April 12, 2019

Wayne Zimdars, of Elcho, died Friday April 12, 2019 at home surrounded by family. He was 82 years old. He was born on June 16, 1936, in the town of Ashippun, WI, a son of Laurence and Loretta (Brill) Zimdars. He married Beverlymae Fuhrman on August 10, 1964, at St. Killians Catholic Church in Hartford.
She survives along with a son, Jonathan Zimdars of St. Paul, MN; a daughter, Denise (Michael) Bellcock of Hartland; two grandchildren Mara and Mason Bellcock; two sisters, Rita Schwartz of Janesville, Gloria Hagen of Fort Myers, Florida; a brother, Warren Zimdars of Neosho, He was preceded in death by his parents and a sister, Gilda Semler.
He was a graduate of Hartford High School with the class of 1954.

Wayne began his heavy equipment construction career in 1954 working for several construction firms in the Milwaukee area. He then became a heavy equipment instructor with the International Union of Operating Engineers in Waukesha, and later with Job Corps. He finished his career as an instructor at the International Union of Operating Engineers training facility in Coloma, WI.

After 60 years of membership he remained in retirement a proud member of the International Union of Operating Engineers Local 139. He was a parishioner at St. Mary's Catholic Church in Pickerel and enjoyed woodworking, fishing, and backyard ornithology.

A funeral Mass will be celebrated Monday April 15, 2019 at 11 a.m. at St. Mary's Catholic Church, Pickerel with Rev. Dave Zimmerman officiating.

Visitation will be from 9:30 a.m. until the time of Mass Monday at the church. Burial will take place in Tigerton Union Cemetery at a later date.

In lieu of flowers a scholarship fund is being established: Memorials may be directed to I.U.O.E Local 139 Wayne Zimdars Scholarship Fund P.O. Box 396 Elcho, WI 54428.
