Mae A. Bain
March 12, 1940 - April 13, 2019

Mae Ann Bain, daughter of Edison Curtis and Florence Elizabeth (Rogers) Herron, was born on March 12, 1940 in Ainsworth, Nebraska. She passed away on Saturday, April 13, 2019 at the Bellevue Medical Center in Bellevue, Nebraska at the age of 79.

Mae's early life was spent in Ainsworth. The family later moved to Omaha before settling in Council Bluffs. On January 17, 1960 she was united in marriage to Max Kenneth Bain in Council Bluffs, Iowa. They moved to Farragut where they resided for the last 59 years.

Mae's first job, in the mid 1950's, was sanitizing and sterilizing instruments for surgery at Jennie Edmundson Hospital in Council Bluffs. After her and Max moved to Farragut, she worked as a Nurses Aide at Hand Community Hospital in Shenandoah. In the mid 1970's she worked as an office assistant at Shenandoah Glass Company. In the 1980's she worked as a bartender for the Shenandoah Eagles Club and for Vogel Popcorn in Hamburg before retiring in 2000.

Mae was a member of the Congregational Church of Farragut, Shenandoah Eagles Club Auxiliary and Farragut Garden Club. She enjoyed ceramics, quilting, gardening, fishing and camping.

She was preceded in death by her parents; brothers Clarence, Curtis and John Herron; sisters Mary Howard and Maxine Hook and brother-in-law Floyd Reynolds.

Those left with heart felt memories include her husband of 59 years, Max of Farragut; daughters Dorothy Laabs (Roger) of Papillion, NE and Denise Adams (Mike) of Omaha, NE; grandchildren Nicole, Justin, Natalie, Jason and Heather; great-grandchildren Rome, Magnus, Gavin, Zoey and a little boy due in June; step-grandchildren Lynn, John, Jordan and Brandon; "adopted sons" Ivan Glenn, Mike Cox and Dave Garcia; siblings Marie Wobig of Cody, NE, Myrtice "Betty" Reynolds of Fremont, NE, Carl Herron (Eva) of Lebanon, TN and Myrna Hayes of Shenandoah; numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives and a host of friends.

Celebration of life funeral service will held held 2:00 pm, Friday, April 19, 2019 at the Hackett-Livingston Funeral Home in Shenandoah. Visitation with the family will be held from 1:00 pm until 2:00 pm, Friday, April 19, 2019 at the Hackett-Livingston Funeral Home in Shenandoah. Memorials may be directed to the Shenandoah Eagles Club or to the family. Burial will be held at the Rose Hill Cemetery in Shenandoah.
