Mary Doris McGee, known as Doris, passed away on Friday, April 12, 2019, at the age of 96 in Deerfield Beach, Florida.
Born on April 16, 1922, to Michael and Delia Gettings, Mary Doris McGee grew up with her three brothers in Bronx, New York. Doris attended Cathedral High School, graduating in 1940. She married Robert Joseph McGee on December 8, 1946, and gave birth to two daughters, Sharyn, and Dianne McGee. The family moved to New Jersey where they lived for 18 years, then Bob and Doris moved to Broward County, Florida. Doris went on to become a successful Real Estate Broker working in this field for over forty years before retiring.
She leaves behind her daughter, Dianne McGee, grandchildren Carey Benzenberg and Lynn Williams and six beautiful great-grandchildren, Krysta, Rily and Lilly Benzenberg and Brady, Ethan and Kiryn Williams.
A Memorial Mass will be offered at St. Ambrose Catholic Church, 380 S. Federal Highway. Deerfield Beach, FL at 9:30 AM on Monday, April 15, 2019.
The family wishes to extend their gratitude and appreciation to all the wonderful caregivers at the Forum of Deercreek who took such excellent care of Doris the last few years of her life. The family suggests a donation to the American Cancer Society in lieu of flowers.
