Colette May Swieter
November 8, 1961 - April 16, 2019

Colette May (Gentz) Swieter, 57, of Iowa Falls, passed away, Tuesday, April 16, 2019, at her home of pancreatic cancer, under the care of her family and Care Initiatives Hospice. She was born November 8, 1961, in Manchester, Iowa, the daughter of Harlan & Arlene Gentz.

On November 27, 1982, she was united in marriage to Donald Swieter. Prior to the marriage, she worked at the bakery in Manchester and at Linn Manor Care Center in Marion. After marrying Donald, she went to school to become a Licensed Practical Nurse and worked at Scenic Living Communities in Iowa Falls for twenty-four years, before quickly becoming ill.

Colette enjoyed baking, spending time with family, going four wheeling in South Dakota, enjoyed her trips to Branson and collecting pig figurines, American flag memorabilia, and nurse memorabilia. She always had a soft heart for the elderly and all her friends and relatives.

Colette was a loving, smiling, caring, warm, fun loving person who was a great mentor and was loved by many.

Colette leaves behind her husband of 36 years Donald LaVerne Swieter of Iowa Falls, son Isaac (Erica) Swieter of Geneva, twin daughter Annette (Sam) Hewuse of Ackley, twin son Brent Swieter of Geneva, two granddaughters, Onna and Addi Swieter, brother Dennis (Gayle) Gentz of Waterloo, sister Marsha (Tim) Draves of Highland, Wisconsin, sister Darlys (Allan) Kluiter of Clarksville, sister Christine (Steve) Recker of Iowa Falls, along with sister-in-law Pat (Roger) Holeman of Cedar Falls, many nieces, nephews, great nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Harlan & Arlene Gentz, brother Merlin Gentz and her mother-in-law and father-in-law LaVerne & Betty Swieter.

Colette professed to be saved on March 7, 1975, thru Isaiah 53:6 We all, like sheep, have gone astray, we have turned to our own way: and the Lord hath laid on him the iniquity of us all.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to the family.
