In loving memory of

Yvette Ignacio
May 18, 1954 - April 18, 2019

Yvette Marie Ignacio, 64, died April 18, 2019 in Ft. Lauderdale, Florida after a season of sickness. Her funeral service will be held on Saturday, May 25th at Cooper City Church of God, followed by interment at Fred Hunter's Hollywood Memorial Gardens North Cemetery, Davie, Florida.

Mrs. Ignacio was born on May 18, 1954 in Kingston, Jamaica to Benjamin and Lauris Washington. She gained a Bachelors of Science degree in Business Administration from Nova Southeastern University and had a successful career of thirty-eight (38) years as a business representative at AT&T. She married Paul Ignacio on June 29, 1974. They raised two children and also became parents to many others in the community and their families. Mrs. Ignacio was involved in her local church where she volunteered to house children from other churches around the world. She enjoyed spending time with her family (especially her grandchildren), traveling the world, playing dominoes, daily exercise, reading, watching her favorite TV shows and Miami Heat basketball.

Her family paid this tribute to her: "Yvette was one of the kindest people you could ever meet, she was an amazing wife and mother, she inspired many to be better versions of themselves. Yvette will be sorely missed but is now in the arms of her Savior."

She is survived by her husband, Paul; two children, Tashmeha and Jahmar; and her six grandchildren.

"Dr. Donna Barrett On behalf of the Black and Barrett family, I express our condolences to the Ignacio family on the passing of a dear wife, mother, grandmother, sister, aunt, friend and woman of God. Our prayers are with you at this difficult time. Helen Keller once said, the best and most beautiful things in the world cannot be seen or even touched. They must be felt with the heart." Yvette has certainly touched my life and indeed my heart in many ways. She always had the right words to say. She was a special friend with a caring attitude, kind spirit and genuine desire to help others in need. Her love, commitment and faithfulness to her family are difficult to match. She has left a superb legacy for her children, grandchildren, colleagues, family members and friends. I fondly remember the many times I stopped by her desk to talk when we worked at BellSouth together. The many birthday celebrations we had together and the time when I surprised her at work on her birthday. Her contagious smile, positive vibes, compassionate spirit will forever live on in our hearts. Paul, Tashmeha, Jahmar, grandchildren, and other family members, may you find strength and consolation in the wonderful memories you shared...Philip and Donna Barrett family"

"I worked with Yvette for many years. She was a very focused and hard worker but never heaistated to take a moment to offer a word of encouragement or listen to my stories. She had a unique sense of humor that always ended with a positive message to take away. I will miss her smile and wit. I can still hear her voice. Always had a good word to share...a devout lover of Christ. I know she is with God right now and I will see her again someday. May God?s grace bring peace to the hearts of her family members and all those who loved her. ??"
