JoAnn B. Sheeler
June 15, 1939 - April 30, 2019

JoAnn Bernice Sheeler, age 79 of Newton, passed away on Tuesday, April 30, 2019 at Broadlawns Medical Center in Des Moines. Graveside funeral services will be held on Saturday, May 4, 2019 at 11:00 a.m. at Silent City Cemetery in Monroe. Visitation will take place for one hour prior to the service at Coburn Funeral Home in Monroe. The family will also greet friend following the service at a luncheon Saturday at the Monroe Presbyterian Church. Memorials may be directed to the Monroe Presbyterian Church or the Jasper County Animal Rescue League. Condolences may be left for the family at www.coburnfuneralhomes.com

The daughter of Howard W. and Lillian (Van Baale) Sheeler, JoAnn was born on June 15, 1939 in Monroe. She graduated from Monroe High School in 1957. On June 15, 1957 she was united in marriage to Richard Aalbers. They later divorced. JoAnn worked as a beautician and also at Clearview Manor in Prairie City. She was a member of the Monroe Presbyterian Church. JoAnn enjoyed sewing and knitting and loved to take care of people and animals.
Those left to honor her memory include her two daughters, Kimberley Aalbers and Kari Jo Aalbers; three grandchildren, Rachel (Rich) Austin, Shana (Rich) Palmer, and Dalton Lee Wilson; seven great grandchildren, Anessa, Amelia, Abel, Adeline, Ryker, Warrick, and Ailis and two brothers, Bob (Nona Kain) Sheeler and Ivan Sheeler. Preceding her in death were her parents, and four sisters, Kathleen, Mary, Gladys and Martha
