Rosemary Scarff passed away Tuesday morning, April 30, 2019, at the age of 91. She was a loving and devoted daughter, sister, wife, mother, mother-in-law, grandmother, aunt and friend.
Rosie was born in West Burlington, Iowa, on February 21, 1928, the daughter of Carl A. Kalkbrenner and Auguste Johanna Elise (Mangl) Kalkbrenner. Rosie spent the early years of her life in West Burlington, and she graduated from Burlington High School. After marrying John W. Scarff, she and John headed to Texas, making their home in the Dallas area for over forty years. After John's death in 1995, Rosie returned to Burlington.
Rosie had three children, and she loved being a mom. She also loved her extended family in Iowa. She had a kind and caring heart, and she was a great friend to many.
Rosie was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, her daughter Cindy Goodrich, and her brother Carl W. Kalkbrenner. Rosie is survived by her sister Ing Zaiser, her sister-in-law Doris Kalkbrenner, sons Jim and Bill, daughters-in-law Liz and Brittany, son-in-law Steve Goodrich, four grandchildren, four great-grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews.
Inurnment will take place in Texas. Cremation has been entrusted to Lunning Chapel.
