James Arthur Morris
December 25, 1930 - May 13, 2019

James Arthur Morris, 88, of Bristow, Iowa, passed away Monday, May 13, 2019, at MercyOne North Iowa Medical Center in Mason City, Iowa. He was born on December 25, 1930, in Cedar Falls, Iowa, to Henry and Anna (Minikus) Morris.

Jim attended Northern University High School in Cedar Falls, and was on the swimming team. He served his country in the United States Marine Corps. Jim fell in love with Jean Bergan and they were united together on June 8, 1957. Jim and Jean were blessed with a marriage of over sixty-one years, which grew to six children, fifteen grandchildren, thirteen great-grandchildren, along with two more great-grandchildren arriving this November.

Jim worked for Schield Bantam in Waverly as a welder for almost thirty years. He was a member of St. John's Evangelical Lutheran Church - Vilmar. Jim enjoyed camping, yard work and mowing, tinkering, carpentry, collecting coins and license plates, picking up cans, and doing word searches. When Jim retired, he enjoyed delivering cars for Jerry Roling, as well as delivering bank documents from Aredale to Dumont. He loved his animals, especially his dogs Elvis and Buddy.

Jim is survived by his wife Jean Morris, daughter Julie Eberline, son Jeff (Jeanette) Morris, daughter Joan (David) Shear, daughter Janna (Doug) Ayers, daughter Jackie (Mark) Whipple and son John (Lisa) Morris, grandchildren Jason Eberline, Renae (Josh) Johnson, Jordan (Alanna) Eberline, Jacob (Natalie) Morris, Jenna (Cory) Turenne, Monty (Kiley) Shear, Crystol (Benji) Ufford, Ashley (Tyson) Wirtjes, Amber (Josh) Wenndt, Landen Morris, Mikki Jo Morris, Natalee Morris, Hudson Morris, Nixson Morris and Preston Morris, great-grandchildren Kiya, Lincoln, Breslynn, Briggs, Bransen, Hollis, Michaela, Brycen, Jarrett, Alivia, Lawson, Bennett, Oliver, and two due in November. He is also survived by several nieces, nephews, and cousins, and his beloved dog Buddy.

Jim was preceded in death by his parents Henry and Anna, sister Artie (Warren) Colvin, sister Alice (Kenneth) Reints and son-in-law Rolin Eberline.

Family was very important to Jim and he loved spending time with all of them. Jim and Jean's love for their Lord and their family was passed down through their children and grandchildren.
