Lawrence Storck was born in Treadwell, NY and lived there until he went to college. He received his B.S. in Health and Physical Education in 1956 from Brockport State Teachers College in Brockport, NY. He also received his Masters from there as well. He taught Physical Education in Penn Yan, NY until 1962.
He is survived by his wife, Marjorie Storck, of 58 ½ yrs. In 1962 they moved to Sarasota, FL and he taught Physical Education at Brookside Jr. High as well as coach basketball and track for 32 yrs. He retired in 1994.
He was preceded in death by his parents and his sister, Adaline. He is also survived by his sister, Kathy Storck, of Slaterville Springs, NY; His sons, Bill and wife, Sharon of Charlotte, NC, Tom and his wife, Kelly, Tim and his wife, Stacy all of Sarasota, FL; Five grandchildren, Krystal, Caitlin, Spencer, Tanner, and Sydney along with one great grandchild, Lyrick.
He was a member of First Baptist Church, where he served as a deacon and sang in the choir until his illness. He loved calling on those in the hospital and that were homebound. Also, he prayed continually for everyone.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorial gifts be made to First Sarasota Student Ministry.
A memorial service will be held on Saturday, May 18th, at 2:00 p.m. at First Baptist Church, 1661 Main St, Sarasota, FL. Family will be receiving guests following the service in the Annex.
