"Deepest sympathy to your family. I remember John very well. As a neighbor he spent time working with my parents, Wayne/Elfrieda Greethurst completing farm harvest tasks. John was always a neighbor willing to help. I always remember his unique hardy laugh. I assisted my mother serving meals to nourish the hard working farmers.John worked along with Wayne,Harvey Rislow, and John Anderson. I also did some babysitting for John and Rita. Wonderful memories the Fremont farmers sharing conversation, work, & talents as farming neighbors. Joan Greethurst"

" Dear Schloegel family, we are so sorry for your loss of such a special and gentle man. Uncle John?s kindness was always the first thing you noticed. He also left us with fond memories of the squirrel feeder he made and we enjoyed in our front yard tree for years. He also took on the role of stand in bidder for us at the Winona County fair and won the bid for a chainsaw wood sculpture of a 10 foot fish. This fish reminded us of him for many years as it graced our small pond. I also enjoyed many visits to Lewiston and uncle John and aunt Rita?s house where I heard a lot of fishing stories!
