MUSCATINE, Iowa - James Calvin Hammond, 72, of Muscatine, passed away on Thursday, May 16, 2019, at Unity Point Muscatine.
A funeral Service will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Monday, May 20, 2019, at the Ralph J. Wittich-Riley-Freers Funeral Home. Burial will take place in Memorial Park Cemetery. Memorials may be made to the family, in care of, Sue Hammond.

James was born on October 17, 1946, in Muscatine, the son of Donald and Karen Manley Hammond. He married Carolyn 'Sue' Haskins on February 6, 1966.
James retired from HNI after 35 years. He enjoyed going to casinos, woodworking, and watching the Iowa Hawkeyes. He loved his cat Jack, his dog Sophia, and especially loved spending time with his family.
Those left to honor his memory include his wife, Sue; three children, Kim Anderson and husband, Mike, Greg Hammond and wife, Angie, and Stephanie Fulcher and husband, Jeff; seven grandchildren, Brittanie Kneese and husband, Lance, Brandon Anderson, Ryan Fulcher, Joshua Fulcher, Alisha Lewis and husband, Sonnie, Jarid Hammond, and Tyler Hammond; five great-grandchildren; one brother, Larry Hammond and wife, Sandy; and several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
