John "Jack" Reysack
July 23, 1927 - May 23, 2019

John "Jack" Reysack, 91, of Hampton, Iowa, passed away Thursday, May 23, 2019, at Franklin Country View Nursing Facility in Hampton. He was born on July 23, 1927, in Parkersburg, Iowa, to Heinrich and Aaltje (Mennen) Reysack.

Jack was united in marriage to Florence Nelson on March 26, 1950; she preceded him in death on June 5, 1979. He then married Marilyn Pals on July 27, 1985.

Jack served his country in the United States Army. He was very proud of his service and stayed active throughout his life. Jack was a member of the American Legion and the VFW. He represented the Veterans of Franklin County, was a Quartermaster for the American Legion, drove veterans to the VA hospital, and was involved in many military honors for former veterans.

Jack was a welder, working for Schield Bantam of Waverly and Jason's Trailer of Hampton. He was a member of St. Peter's United Church of Christ in rural Geneva and the Hampton Senior Center. Jack enjoyed everyday coffee at Hardee's at 8 and McDonald's at 3.

Jack is survived by his wife Marilyn Reysack, son David Reysack, son Richard (Linda) Reysack, daughter Cindy (Michael) Music, son Mike Reysack, daughter Evelyn (Roger) Goodell, nine grandchildren, numerous great-grandchildren, daughter-in-law Debra Reysack, step-children Cheryl (Jim) Hoff, Janean (Mark) Van Der Heyden, Karla (David) Harris, and Kendall Benning, along with numerous nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents, first wife Florence, son John B., step-son Kevin Benning, along with twelve brothers and sisters.


In lieu of flowers, memorials may be sent to Franklin Country View Foundation, Hampton, in memory of John "Jack" Reysack.
