Katharine Taws Claghorn
June 9, 1931 - May 24, 2019

Katharine Taws Claghorn, age 87, passed away peacefully on Friday May 24, 2019 at her residence in Meadowood Senior Living in Worcester, PA.

Born in Philadelphia, she was the daughter of the late Edward T. and Helen (nee May) Taws.

Mrs. Claghorn was a member of the National Society of the Colonial Dames of America in the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania, the Daughters of the American Revolution, and the Sedgeley Club in Philadelphia. She enjoyed socializing at Sunnybrook Golf Club. Katharine's happiest times were spent with her husband on their boat at the Little Egg Harbor Yacht Club and in her garden in Beach Haven, NJ.

Katharine was preceded in death by her beloved husband Frederic S. Claghorn in 2002. She is survived by her sons, Frederic S. Claghorn, Jr. and his wife Mary of Gwynedd Valley; Edward T. Claghorn and his wife Katrina of Wayne; and James L. Claghorn and his wife Anita of Monterey, CA. She is the grandmother of Kate Ashton, Tara Nicastro, Anne Claghorn, Samantha Claghorn, Fred Claghorn III, Ted Claghorn, Jr, and Justus Claghorn, and great grandmother of seven. Katharine is the dear sister of Edward T. Taws, Jr. of Southern Pines, NC and John M. Taws of Plumsteadville.

Funeral Services will be private.
