In loving memory of

Margaret Celia Ailts
November 2, 1919 - May 29, 2019

Margaret Celia Ailts, 99, of Dumont, Iowa passed away Wednesday, May 29, 2019, at the Dumont Wellness Center where she had made her home for the last five years.

She was born November 2, 1919, at her parents home in Titonka, Iowa, daughter of Ed and Johanna (Isebrand) Ites. Margaret graduated high school in 1939 in Titonka, Iowa. She married John Ailts on June 18, 1941.

Margaret was a helpmate her entire life to her husband John in ministry, serving at Elim Reformed Church in Kings, Illinois, Bethel Reformed Church in Ellsworth, Minnesota before coming to The Dumont Reformed Church in 1963. Every Saturday night she could be found diligently typing up Sunday's bulletin. She taught Sunday School and was also a member of the Ladies Aid. She enjoyed attending the Wednesday meal site, visiting with friends, and was an avid prayer warrior for her loved ones and their congregation. She was a wonderful mother to their three children, Judy, Cindy, and Debbie. She also enjoyed being involved in her grandchildren's lives and attending their activities throughout the years.

She served her husband in his final years as a loving caregiver as his health required him to be homebound. She served others as well as a CNA at the Dumont Nursing Home for twenty-seven years. She retired at the age of 81. She continued to enjoy listening to sermons from her church and was the oldest living member of the Dumont Reformed church, having been a member there for 55 years.

Margaret's contentment in life and relationship with the Lord was something to marvel at. During her final years, her eyesight had nearly left her, however, most days you could find her sitting in her chair listening to her audio Bible or to the Christian channel on the television. If you asked her how she was doing she would answer "oh, pretty good." Rarely did you find her complaining about her life or circumstances. She accepted anything that came her way, as she knew her eternal home was not here on earth. She listened to all who came to visit with her, truly hearing and sincerely caring about what they had to say. She prayed for all those she loved with deep devotion. She spent her entire life worshipping the Lord and now she is celebrating in His presence.

She was a wonderful and loving wife, mother, grandmother, and friend. She will be dearly missed.

Margaret is survived by her daughter Judy (John) Venenga of Pella, daughter Cindy (Gordon) Schrock of Dumont, daughter Deb (Dennis) Mennen of Dumont, grandchildren Michelle (Garry) O'Leary, Kari (Jeff) Bokhoven, Jill (Gene) Nicklas, Amanda (Bryan) Neppl, Abby (Mark) Lempe, Jeremy (Ashley) Schrock, Ivy Mennen, Olivia (Ehren) Layton, Jessica (Taylor) Rettig, Alexa (Philipp) Hoeltermann, Macala (Michael) Donnelly and twenty eight great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her husband John Ailts, parents Ed and Johanna (Isebrand) Ites, parents-in-law George and Hanna (Savering) Ailts, granddaughter Laura (Daniel) Groenenboom and three sisters.
