In loving memory of

Carl Robert DeBoer
October 16, 1940 - May 31, 2019

Carl Robert DeBoer was born October 16, 1940 to Enno and Emma Hemmerich DeBoer in rural Butler County. He died at his home in Allison on May 31, 2019 after a long battle with cancer. He attended a country school until Eighth grade and then graduated from Allison-Bristow High School with the class of '58. He worked a short time for Oliver Corporation and as a truck driver for a livestock hauler. In 1961, he married Barbara Corporon and they farmed for four years near Bristow. They then moved to the farm near Vilmar where they lived until they retired to Allison. Carl was a farmer at heart and never wanted to be anything else. He enjoyed restoring old Oliver tractors and was always fixing something for someone, usually a lawn mower. He loved to read but his biggest joy was his family. The grandkids and great grandkids soon found out what a fun guy he was. He was a member of Trinity Reformed Church in Allison and was an usher there. He served on the elevator board at the Greene CO-OP and was an ASC committeeman for several years.

Carl is survived by his wife, Barbara, two children, Terry (Brenda) of Hampton and Jolene (Rayneil) Wolf of Ames. Four grandchildren: Jared (Melissa) DeBoer of Urbandale, Kyle (Michelle) DeBoer of Roseville, Minnesota, Ariana (Tyler) Krueger, of Clinton, and Skylar (Grace Ritter) Wolf of Ames. Three great grandchildren, Sophia and Jack DeBoer and Lydia Krueger with two more on the way. Two sisters, Marie (John) Schipper of Greene, Elaine (Robert) Brown of Bradgate, and one brother Bill (Tillene) DeBoer of Iowa Falls.

He was preceded in death by his parents and one sister, Ruth.

"I'm sorry to hear of Carl's passing. He and I were good friends in our high school days, and I always enjoyed his welcoming smile and friendly manner. I offer my sympathy and prayers for his family and all those who mourn his demise. Wendell Debner at Marion, Iowa"

Gary and Mary Fuls-Grant wrote on Jun 2, 2019:

"Carl was my classmate since 9th grade, truly a nice person with a caring personality. In looking at the 1958 class info, I see his favorite song that year was by Pat Boone, "A Wonderful Time Up There." Boone refers to how Heaven will be which is comforting to all of us. I saw Carl two years ago at the funeral of my twin brother, Larry Fuls. The class of 1958 shares your sorrow. Gary and Mary Fuls-Grant, Sedalia, Missouri"
