Marcille Gladys McAllister
March 3, 1925 - June 1, 2019

Marcille Gladys McAllister, 94, of New London and formerly Mount Union, died Saturday, June 1, 2019 at New London Specialty Care in New London where she had made her home for almost 10 years. She was born March 3, 1925 in Burlington to Carl W. and Alma VanOsdol Smith. On November 20, 1943 she married Keith Ronald McAllister at the Mt. Union United Methodist Church. He died August 6, 2004.
She was a graduate of Danville High School and was a member of Mt. Union United Methodist Church and TTT. Following high school she traveled with friends to Washington D.C. where she worked for the FBI for a short time. Marcille was a lovely homemaker and farmwife who delivered meals to the field. She helped out at Old Threshers and especially enjoyed time with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Survivors include her children; Kenneth L. (Wanda) McAllister, Mt. Union; Pam (Dave) Smith, West Burlington; Travis S. (Stephanie) McAllister, Morning Sun; daughter-in-law, Cindy McAllister, Mt. Union; nine grandchildren; 25 great-grandchildren with one on the way; three great-great-granddaughters; and sister Lola (Ron) Wick, Cherry Valley, Illinois.
Besides her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by her son, Tim and sister, Helen Bailey.
The funeral service for Mrs. McAllister will be 2:00 PM Monday at Mt. Union United Methodist Church with Pastor David Morris officiating. The family will greet friends beginning at 1:00 until the time of the service. Burial will follow at Trinity Cemetery, rural Mt. Union. Memorials have been established for Mt.
