Elizabeth J. Bourn
December 30, 1931 - June 7, 2019

Elizabeth J. "Betty" Bourn, 87, of Burlington died Friday, June 7, 2019 at the Great River Hospice House in West Burlington.
Born December 30, 1931 in Mt. Pleasant, Iowa she was the daughter of Fred Oral and Virginia Anna (Hannah) Perrenoud. She married Norman Hillies Bourn on April 18, 1954 in Winfield, Iowa. He died February 1, 2019.
Betty was a Registered Nurse for over 41 years for Mercy Hospital and Burlington Medical Center until her retirement in 1993. She was a graduate of Winfield High School and Mercy School of Nursing.
She was a member of the Order of the Eastern Star, Iowa Nature Conservancy, CWA, Good Sam's Club and Grace United Methodist Church.
She loved crafting, oil painting, gardening, bird watching and camping.
Survivors include her two daughters, Cheryl (Tom) Carney of Geneseo, Illinois and Norma "Jeannie" (Rick) Chapman of Sioux Falls, South Dakota; five grandchildren; four great grandchildren and one brother John Perrenoud of Farley, Iowa.
She was preceded in death by her parents, husband and one sister.
The funeral service for Mrs. Bourn will be 11:00 a.m. Monday, June 10th at Winfield United Methodist Church. The Rev. Melisa Bracht-Wagner will officiate. Interment will be in Winfield-Scott Cemetery, Winfield, Iowa. The family will receive friends for one hour prior to services.
A memorial has been established for Grace United Methodist Church.

"I got to know Betty and Norm when I was only 16 and working at Mercy Hospital in the Admitting Office. Such nice people. The world for sure will miss Betty as it has Norm. Good kind people. "
