Janet E. Howard
January 2, 1939 - June 13, 2019

Family will greet friends on Tuesday June 18, 2019 from 4:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. at the Joyce Funeral Home in Emmetsburg.

Janet E. (Clinton) Howard, daughter of Orville G. and Dorothy E. (Woodbeck) Clinton, was born January 2, 1939 in Armstrong, Iowa

On January 9, 1955, Janet was united in marriage to Arthur Howard at Sherburn, Minnesota. The couple made their home in various locations before settling in Emmetsburg for the last 40 years.

Janet was employed at Berkley Manufacturing in Emmetsburg until its closing, and she worked as a cook for the Emmetsburg Community School District and Kathleen's Residential Care Facility in Emmetsburg. She enjoyed roller skating, water skiing and dancing. She loved to travel and spend time with her family.

Janet passed away on Thursday, June 13, 2019 at the Lakeside Lutheran Home in Emmetsburg. She was 80.

Left to cherish her memory are her children: Debra Mitchell of Emmetsburg, Clinton Howard and his wife, Marcia of Estherville and Lisa Pomerenke and her husband, Jay of Emmetsburg; eight grandchildren; 22 great-grandchildren; her brother, Ronald Clinton of Ninety Six, South Carolina and her sister, Noreen Biggs and her husband, Brad of Emmetsburg.

Janet was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Arthur Howard; two daughters; two grandchildren and five siblings.
