Durwood Truett Chapman

Durwood T (Dick) Chapman was born December 2, 1930 in Lubbock, Texas passed away October 6, 2018 at the age of 87 in Austin, Texas.
He was predeceased by his parents, Thomas E. Chapman and Zada (Drum) Chapman of Snyder, Texas.
Dick spent his young years in Loving, Tx. He attended High School in Graham, Texas until his family moved to Snyder, Tx his senior year. He graduated from Snyder High School in 1948. He enlisted in the USAF in 1948 during the outbreak of the Korean Conflict. He served 20 years, retiring in 1968. After his Air Force retirement, he worked for Texas Agency, TxDot for 23 years retiring in 1991.
He was a member of Capital City Rod and Gun Club serving as Treasurer and President for 2 years. He as also a member of the Masonic Lodge #514 for 50 plus years.
Dick is survived by his wife of 66 years Jean Badger Chapman, Daughters Vikki Anstey (Jack), Lisa Burrows (Lee), Four Grandchildren Jon Anstey (Liz), Kalise Pantalone (Darrell Royal), Erin Diegel (Lee), Tyler Burrows (Lindsey). Seven Great- Grandchildren D.J. and Kalyn, Truett and Tabitha, Connor and Kennedy and Griffin. Brother Gerald (Sonny) Chapman of Kermit, Tx and many nieces and nephews.
A visitation will be at Harrell Funeral Home, 4435 Frontier Trail on Thursday, October 11, 2018 from 5PM to 8PM, with Graveside Services on Friday, October 12, 2018 at 2:00 PM at the Center Cemetery in Lometa, Texas.
