"I met Manning in FLRP in 2007. We hit it off famously. He was such a caring friend who opened my eyes to different cultures and cuisines. Gone to soon..but he went back to UT to care for his dad. I know his niece and sister miss him terribly. He spoke highly of their accomplishments. He aspired to be a Senior Leader but had an epifany when he traveled overseas and began to reflect on how he could impact others lives. He coached his employees to greatness! My dear friend..."

"I first met Manny when he relocated for work to Maryland and found his funny sense of humor contagious and found him fun to hang out with on occasion after work with the theme of food of course! The funniest memory I have with Manny was we went out restaurant hopping in Arlington, VA during Halloween, we went to a Japanese sushi bar. Both of us were dressed up in a Chinese Kung Fu red and black silk coats with the Dragon and bowl cap as Hop Sing. Manny told the waitress to sit down so he could take her order! The restaurant owner and cooks came out of the kitchen laughing! That's part of Manny's infectious humor and fun nature but he will truly be missed by all who knew him! I just talked with him from late June 2017 thru early August 2017 about his plans to move to the Big Island of Hawaii. He reached out to me for ideas and for my opinions about lodging accommodations, the culture, and food (of course!) and things about the Big Island because I was born and raised in Hawaii. He mentioned that his brother and his family was vacationing on the Kona side in late July and was jealous. Manny being avid in Yoga, I mentioned to him about the Wood Valley Temple and Retreat in south Big Island and other peaceful adventures of things to do on the Big Island. His spirit is now in peace! May you rest in peace Brother Manny but you will never be forgotten! Albert Adaoag"

"Manny was a true delight to be around. When Manny lived in the DMV and the concert line up was out he was plotting on which outdoor concerts he was going to attend. I will always remember him coming back to the office and telling me all about the concerts, one in particular was the Sade concert. Rest in Paradise Manny. God Bless My sincere condolences and heartfelt prayers are with Manny's family and friends."

Joel Mendoza wrote on Aug 16, 2017:

"Manny"s immediate demise came as a shock to me and I'm sure to everyone else. I spent some of my young adulthood years with Manny. He was warm, fun loving, spontaneous & adventurous. I never did see him many years after not until he took a Yoga teaching class in the Philippines. Unfortunately his employer fluked out on him. To Manny, it was a blessing in disguise. Instead of fretting over the situation,He turned this adversity into an opportunity. Manny made his 4 weeks, a grand vacation instead. Adventurous as he is, he booked himself the following day to see the beautiful island of Palawan.. He had a blast with all the food the island had to offer and the new friends he gained. To quench Manny's thirst to learn more of his roots, He also spent some time at the famous Las Casas Filipinas de Acuzar in Bataan, Back in Manila, we went bar and restaurant hopping. The many stories Manny had to tell.....Man O man. Manny was indeed a beautiful person inside out. He left me some lessons in life to be learned in pursuit of true happiness. 1. You need money to survive, but not to be consumed by it; 2. Do not be unkind to yourself by saying you will enjoy tomorrow, for tomorrow may never come; 3. Be yourself, and not to live on other's expectations of you; 4. Do not give excuses for family and friends, for in the end only they matter. Manny may have gone ahead but I believe, he has lived a full life on his own terms. I will truly miss you my dear cousin and friend! Joel Mendoza"

"Manny and I supported each other at Teacher Training with hours of "really" questions about the dialogue and how we could learn it , say it and be teachers. He so admired his sister as a wonderful Bikram teacher and spoke of her at his lovely role model. My world at TT was a better place for his presence. Deborah Kearney with sadness and appreciation"

"We were in Bikram Yoga Teacher Training together. Manny came with me on a road trip to Oceanside to record a video of my teaching for a possible job. We took the video at my son and his girlfriend's house. They fell for Manny completely. We did the video outside on the lawn. It took about 20 takes and we were all wild with laughter. After about two bottles of wine, it was a take! Manny and I drove back to LA and resumed the training. Both my son and his girlfriend became Manny's friends. Everyone he ever met became his friend. He and I got through training by haunting every restaurant in the area....Persian, Sushi, Italian....we were there! He was an exceptional human being. He will live in my heart forever. Pamela Lydon Heard"

"Some memories of Manny: He managed the Section I was in from April-August 2008 and then January 2009-August 2015. He said he had allergies to everything and carried an epi pen. He was hit by a car while walking in 2011. He shared a picture of his foot still recovering after an operation (too much information!) He practiced and taught Bikram (hot) yoga. He sometimes got upset with some of us. All in all, a genuine, sometimes intense but happy person who had big pictures in his cubicle of his beautiful relatives. Im sorry for his family, friends and co-workers he leaves behind. Take some comfort in your memories of him and that whatever suffering for him is over. We wont forget him --- he made a difference!"

"This past year I worked with Manny remotely within our Middleware Branch. He was always cheerful and willing to help with whatever I sent his way and quick to get back with me when I had questions. I'm so sorry for your loss. I've lost loved ones suddenly and it doesn't seem real for the longest time. Taking care of the funeral arrangements and estate help it to sink in, but it's the holidays and events that he would have been to that make it real. Sending prayers for you and yours as you go on day-to-day without Manny physically being there with you. Mica Thompson"
