"Dear Rita, I'm so sorry to hear about Red's passing. He was a friend that would help anyone anytime and in any way he could - a true friend. The years that I've know him through the BBQ Club have been so enjoyable. Just sitting and talking - as well as working - at the Pound House events. Having breakfast he'd cooked at Christmas on Mercer and at Founder's Day was always a welcome treat. It will be a challenge to find someone to take on the responsibilities he so willingly carried out in the club. I'm grateful I was able to visit with you just a few weeks ago at Founder's Day. It's hard to loose someone, but be ever so grateful for the time you had with Red. I know I will. Frank Pennington"
"Dear Rita, Jim and I are so very sorry to hear about Richard ("Red") passing away. He was a sweet, sweet man and he sure could cook some delicious bar-be-que. He was a friend to all of us and he will certainly be missed. Please know we are keeping you in our hearts. June Baumoel"
