In loving memory of

Teresa Marie Carney
May 8, 1967 - September 22, 2016

Teresa Marie Carney passed away unexpectedly from complications of Rheumatoid Arthritis at the age of 49 in Buda Texas. She was born May 8, 1967 in Washington State and adopted at three months of age by Jim and Mary Elizabeth (Wright) Carney. She was a kind and generous person, giving her last dollar and going without just to help another. Teresa worked as a Para-legal in Austin, TX for over ten years until her illness forced her to stop working around 2002. When able, she loved to bake and be outside with her plants and listen to the birds sing. When her illness made it difficult to move, she could be found on her tablet or watching history shows on TV. Teresa appreciated all kinds of music and enjoyed spending time with her cat Austin while listening to her vast collection of music.
Teresa leaves behind her brother Alex Carney, her step-sister Stephanie Tarlton. She will be greatly missed by her cousin, Lynn Ellington Smith, her best friend of 22 years and caregivers Velma and Phillip Mercer and son Caeden as well as her cat Austin. She will also be missed by Velmas parents, Albino and Elida Hernandez as well as their family.
Following cremation, Teresa will be interred in Burnet, TX
Friends and family are invited to share a memory about Teresa or leave a condolence for her family on her online memorial site at www.harrellfuneralhomes.com
Cremation arrangements by Harrell Funeral Home 1715 Kirby Lane, Kyle TX

"So true."

"Teresa was a very good and generous person. She cared deeply about people. We first met in 2000 when I joined Austin rowing club and she was the captain of a boat and kind enough to let me row in the boat (an eight) as a "newbie." We remained friends over the years. She was very interested in politics, history, and world affairs. She will be deeply missed, and always remembered."

"It was always wonderful talking to Teresa when she would call her brother Alex (my roommate) on the phone here in Hilo, Hawaii. After learning that I was of Hawaiian descent, she would be so interested in learning the different cultures that make these islands so unique that she did not know of before. I would share some of our Hawaiian language as well as our music with her. What she loved most of our conversations was that I spoke a little Hawaiian with her, I answered the telephone with "Aloha" as well as ended the call with "mahalo" or thank you for calling. Though just meeting her on the telephone some 5 years ago....she remained as sweet and thoughtful of life as well as her love and caring for her brother as a sister would be. I will miss your calls to your brother, the laughs we shared and the sharing of our island lifestyle. Aloha ke akua (God loves you). Flying with angels, Ahui hou (until we meet again) RIL Teresa! Aloha always to you........your friend Kananiokalani Neizmen."
