"I apologize in advance if this offends anyone but I want to share my story of chance. Today, in particular, I was having extreme difficulty auscultating my patient's apical pulse with my stethoscope. Having this vital sign is extremely important before giving certain medications and I was disappointed in my stethoscope. I was driving home from nursing school (taking the scenic route) and I just happened to pass an estate sale. I dream of a grand home someday so I felt compelled to stop so I could see the inside. It was a beautiful home indeed and I was completely intrigued by the office. There were medical reference books galore, antique style Doctor tools, and there it was! A grey Littmann Classic II stethoscope with a name tag reading Dr. Savage! It was meant to be. Even though Dr. Savage has passed on he will be there in spirit as I take care of many more patients for many more years to come with his stethoscope. Sincerely, JM, Student Nurse"

"Dear Anita, Carroll and I just learned of Dr.'s passing. He and I started work in Franklin at the same time as junior partners in the nursing home and his work as medical director helped establish our reputation for providing good care. We became very good friends and our weekly golf outing at Temple Hills was something I always looked forward to. God Rest Him and God Bless You. John and Carroll Jones"

"Anita, I just learned about an hour ago about your loss. My daughter was in a class with Don and he told her. I am so sorry, but you know I feel your pain. I was so blessed to have had the years to work with him. He was so patient with me and always soft spoken and kind. Both of you were there for me when things were bad for my Larry and I will forever be grateful. Looking up and seeing you and Dr. Savage walk in to the waiting area is still vivid in my mind. My prayers are with you and your lovely family. God bless. Kaye Gibbs"
