James Eric Crum, 43, of Austin, Texas was granted is angel wings on April 30, 2015 following a lifelong illness. His final days were spent surrounded by his family and friends that James touched in his short but memorable life.
Born in McAllen, Texas on December 30, 1971 where he lived all of his childhood before moving to Austin, Texas.
James touched the hearts of many people with his gentle smile that could melt the hearts of those around him and although he never spoke a word, his voice and thoughts could always be heard. James possessed the ability to overcome incredible odds and physical challenges. He taught us about courage and perseverance. He will always be our angel boy.
James was survived by his mother, Hermelinda G. Crum and his father, Richard Crum, sister Mary Arana (Carlos) and brother, Rick Crum (Veronica) and his nieces, Carly Gonzalez, Sierra Crum, Cayla Gonzalez, Caitlyn Gonzalez, Camryn Gonzalez and his nephew, Shawn Crum
Special thanks to his wonderful caregiver, Ophelia Cobos that loved James like her brother.
Also thanks to Southwood Care Center and New Century Hospice for their care and gentleness in his last year of life. Thank you to Dr. Guadalupe Zamora and his staff for his care throughout his life.
Rosary will be at Harrell Funeral Home in Austin, TX on Sunday, May 3, 2015 at 5:00pm and a Rosary on Tuesday, May 5, 2015 in McAllen, Texas at Rivera Funeral Home from 1:00pm to 9pam. Funeral will be on Wednesday, May 6, 2015 at 10:00am at Our Lady of Sorrows Catholic Church.
