"I remember high school quite well, and so many of my goofy/fun times involved you. I wish we hadn\'t lost contact. It\'s been almost 6 years and I still think of you regularly. I hope that peace is in profound surplus for you now. -Hess"

"I'm so blessed to have met you and your beautiful wife. We spent such a short time together, but your huge heart and magnetic personality will be something I will always remember and cherish. You will be greatly missed, but never forgotten. Rest in peace Matt."

"Our hearts are broken with the passing of our "MT". It was my honor to be called "Momma Jill" by this incredible young man. He came into my left in his teens, but quickly became a second son to me. I had two "Matthew's"! What a blessing to see him come to know Christ and grow in that faith. His laugh was contageous, his "life of the party" personality was what drew many to him. I pray that Stephanie and Callum will have a peace about them, knowing that Matt is in Heaven. I love you Kiddo.... Momma Jill"

"Mathew, while I never had the benefit of knowing you personally, it matters not. You are a Marine, therefore, you are a son and it hurts to know that your burdens were so heavy and the pain was so deep that leaving your family was the better option. With all of my being, I pray that God has granted you the peace that you so richly deserve. And prayers to your family, friends and to your Marine brothers. XOMarine Mom1/5 Alpha WIA"
