Drake Mallory, age 12, became an angel in heaven on Thursday, May 23, 2013. He was born in Austin, TX on November 10, 2000 and resided in Buda, Texas for most of his life. Drake was the brightest, most creative, dedicated and motivated kid weve ever known. Teachers always told me he was the unique student who thought outside the box. He attended Carpenter Hill Elementary and Dahlstrom Middle School in Buda, Texas. He was on the Elite Cheerleader Team as a Level 5 - Hellcat, 2nd Class Boy Scout in Troop 967, recently selected to be in the Wind Ensemble Band as a saxophone player at DMS, and past jump rope team member at CHES. His hobbies and interests were endlessDrake loved to knit, crochet, weave and work with his hands. He was an origami wizard, cup stacker, duct tape crafter, magician, gardener, hunter, artist, aspiring inventor, roller coaster rider, snow skier (black diamonds), skateboarder and more... Needless to say, Drake was very well rounded and always busy! Drake loved spending time with his family, cousins, grandparents and friends. He was always our go to guy for any electronic questions and set up. Drake would read How to books cover to cover just to teach himself a new skill. He and his sister, Bethany, watched countless episodes of Myth Busters and How Its Made because he was always intrigued and wanted to know how everything worked. If you asked Drake what he wanted to be when he grew up, he always answered confidently, an Aerospace Engineer.He is survived by his loving parents, Dawn Mallory and Chris Harkrider (Hark); sisters Bethany (B) Harkrider, Holly Harkrider and brother Ryan Harkrider; grandparents Dianne (MeeMaw) and Milton (Pawpaw) Mallory and Grandmother Wanda Harkrider; Uncle Mouse (Scott) Mallory, his wife Tracy and cousins Grace, Paige and Wyley Mallory. Drake is survived also by the entire loving, extended Harkrider family.The family will have a visitation for all family and friends at Harrell Funeral Home in Kyle, TX Friday May 31st from 4:00 - 7:00 p.m. Memorial services will be at Hays Hills Baptist Church, 1401 FM 1626 in Buda, TX at 10:00 a.m. Saturday, June 1, 2013, followed by a reception at Ruby Ranch Lodge and Celebration facility.
