Maurice A Shiner? WrightMaurice. Wright, Jr. age 84, passed away on March 27, 2007. He was born one of seven children born to Katie and Maurice Wright, Sr. He attended public school in Muskogee, Oklahoma and served his country in the United States Army, 4812th Service Command Unit until he was honorably discharged in 1945. He them attended Conner State Junior College in Warner, Oklahoma and received an Associate Degree in Science. Maurice was employed by Oklahoma Gas & Electric in Muskogee, Oklahoma and retired in 1985 as district manager in Durant, Oklahoma after 36 years of service.Maurice married Wahleah Jane Bowman Nee Mills in Fort Smith, Arkansas on January 8, 1949. He always called her the prettiest little brown eyed Indian? he had ever seen. She preceded him death on February 12, 1998.He is survived by brother, John P. Wright of Houston; sister Bonnie Jean Mc Laren of Frisco, TX; sister in law, Leta Wright of Shiner, TX; step-daughter, Linda Jane Sullivan of Austin and numerous nieces and nephews. His many close friends in Muskogee, Durant and Austin were also a very important part of his life, especially his OG buddies.The family would like to extend their gratitude to the staff at Stonebridge Health Center, Dr. Milton W. Shepperd and Odyssey Health Care for the professional, loving and compassionate care provided to Maurice.
