Theresa Charlotte Dupree
July 11, 1962 - July 25, 2005

"With Harrell's kind permission, I would like to extend my previous remarks. Theresa Charlotte Dupree was the epitome of the All-American woman. She was a role model for all Americans. She was an exceptionally beautiful, highly devoted, extemely hard-working, and selfless mother of two well-raised children. Her children Robert and Natasha were the center of her life. She sacrificed a great deal on their behalf. Our Heavenly Father blessed Theresa with a lively, giving and loving personality that would steal your heart away. She loved movies, music, and playing board and computer games -- but most of all, being with her friends and family. During her 9-year career in the U.S. Army, both in Europe and in America, she earned many prestigious awards and promotions. During her 7-year career in the Texas Department of Housing and Public Affairs, her hard work and professionalism earned her many awards and promotions, as well. She had the world's most beautiful voice, in my and many others' opinion. All of our lives are so much emptier now, with Theresa's early departure to Heaven. Someday, hopefully, we will understand why God chose to take Theresa at such a young age. I believe that Our Heavenly Father will eternally bless our beloved Theresa Charlotte Dupree."

She had a stellar record as a hard-working State of Texas professional. In the Texas Department of Housing and Public Affairs, her 7-year career was marked by several awards and promotions. Theresa had a lively personality that would steal your heart away. She had the world's most beautiful voice in my opinion. All of our lives are so much emptier now, with her early departure to Heaven. I know that God will eternally bless our beloved Theresa Charlotte Dupree."

"Hi! I'm actually Theresa's daughter. Took me a while to find this site but now that I have I just wanted to write a lil something. There's not much I can say that hasn't already been said...and like Miss Slaughter I have alot more than 1000 characters to say about my mommy! Its really hard to read everyone else sayin "was" and "used to be" and all that jazz about my mom when I still say "is" like she's not dead. But I know that she is in a better...safer place and that I will see her again soon enough! Thank you all so much for loving and looking after my mamma while she was here with us! I know you will all have the best of times when you meet again when ever that is! I LOVE YOU MAMMA!"

"I'd first like to extend my deepest sympathy to the entire family. I remember when Theresa first started with TDHCA as a temporary. She had a quiet spirit and pretty much stayed to herself. Once she became more comfortable with the "10th Floor Crew", she opened up a lot more so that we could get to know her. I used to tease her about the mini skirts she used to wear,showing off her boney legs, and I'd also tease her about her little switch as she bounced down the hallways. :- I remember telling her that she didn't have any business trying to switch when she didn't weigh but 50 pounds. :- I also remember being amazed by her two-finger typing skills. She could really put out some work! When Theresa became a permanent part of our family she worked side by side with me in the Licensing Section. I nicknamed her "Ms. Chickabee" and she just loved it! I remember one day I accidentially called someone else Ms. Chickabee and Theresa shot outside of her workstation and exclaimed, "That's my name!" Ever since that time I made absolutely sure I didn't make that mistake again. :- Shortly thereafter, she became my right-hand gal as I supervised the section. Again, she amazed me with her skills, her ability to shuffle multiple tasks, and the neatness of her workstation. I really envied her work ethics. She was a warrior when it came to getting the job done. She always had this thing about not leaving ANY work unfinished at the end of the day. I used to tell her that it was ok to have work left over from the day before, but she was not trying to hear that! She was adamant about it! She was an awesome worker. When I left the Licensing Section Theresa and I remained very close. Often times she would come in my office just to say good morning and to look outside my window. Of course she always brightened my day. Often times we she bounced into my office I'd ask her why she was always so bubbly at 8:00 in the morning! That was just Theresa. I can't say enough about Theresa, personally or professionally. She was an absolute jewel and she will be missed dearly. I'm lucky that I have the privilage of performing Theresa's job responsibilites once again. Seeing her handwriting on files and documents will be comforting for me. I will never forget what an exceptional person she was. It is my hope and prayer that the family cherishes the memories of this spetacular woman. God Bless you all."
