Shirley C Lutz
January 21, 1929 - June 26, 2019

Shirley C. Lutz, 90, passed away June 26, 2019, surrounded by her family. She was born January 21, 1929, in New Castle, PA. She married Joseph Lutz on August 27, 1949. Their devotion to one another continues into eternal life as they now share the same date of death, June 26, and burial, June 30th, 19 years apart.

Shirley started her secretarial career for the Naval Ordnance Research Laboratory, located on the campus of Penn State University where Joe attended college. She continued working in various secretarial roles while raising her family. Shirley and Joe eventually moved their family to the Midwest where they established their roots in Minnesota. Shirley was an avid bridge player; she also enjoyed knitting, cooking, entertaining, crossword and jigsaw puzzles, and activities involving family and friends.

Shirley is survived by her son Greg (Martha) of Owatonna, daughters, Jane (Terry) Knothe, and Carolyn of Winona, her grandson Zach and family of South Dakota, granddaughter Amber and family of Northfield, and extended family and friends.

A funeral service will be held at 1:00 p.m. Sunday, June 30th, with visitation starting at 11:00 a.m. at Hoff Celebration of Life Center, Goodview. A lunch will follow. Interment will be at Fort Snelling National Cemetery in Minneapolis on Tuesday, July 2nd, at 1:35 p.m. Please view her tribute video and leave a memory at hofffuneral.com.
