November 22, 1917 - March 4, 2002

Charles C. ?Bucky? Buck age 84 of Casper Wyoming and formerly of Maquoketa Iowa and Waterloo New York died Monday March 4 2002 at the Wyoming Medical Center.



Public Graveside Services and Burial will be held at 1 P.M. Saturday March 16 2002 from the Mount Hope Cemetery in Maquoketa Iowa. Rev. Duane Manning will officiate. There will be no public visitation. Full military rites will be accorded by the Maquoketa American Legion Post #75 Maquoketa VFW Post #3633 O'Connor-Regenwether & the Andrew AMVETS Post #62. The Carson & Son Funeral And Cremation Services in Maquoketa Iowa is in charge of arrangements.



Charles C. ?Bucky? Buck was born on November 22 1917 in Waterloo New York to Floyd Henry Buck and Jessie Roles Buck.

During World War II he served as a master sergeant in Army Air Corps in England.



After returning home to his wife Dorothy Ritchie Buck he established a family home in Waterloo where they lived until retirement. He began his career as a skilled machinist at Goulds Pumps in Seneca Falls N.Y. and became a time study engineer thereafter graduating from Rochester Institute of Technology.



He was a lifetime member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars Post in Waterloo and the Waterloo Sportsman?s Club. He had volunteered as a 4-H Leader for nine years for the Happy Helpers 4-H Club. He had also turned one of his fields into a softball diamond for the young men in rural Waterloo.



After retiring the couple traveled the United States while wintering in Gulfport Mississippi. They lived in Maquoketa Iowa for six years before moving to Casper two years ago to be closer to family.



He is Survived By: His Wife- Dorothy Buck of Casper WY; 2 Sons- Curtis W. Buck of Casper WY & Robert M. Buck of Rockford IL; 5 Grandchildren; 7 Great-Grandchildren; & 7 Brothers & Sisters of the Waterloo area- Barbara Taylor Alene Judd Clifford Buck Salley Livermore Joyce Treese Eleanor DuHamel & Lester Buck. He was preceded in death by his parents 2 brothers- Lawrence & Richard Buck & 1 sister- Phyllis Buck.



In Lieu of family donations or flowers the family requests memorials to the Charles & Dorothy Buck Scholarship Fund in care of Robert M. Buck 111 S. London Avenue Rockford IL 61103. The scholarship will be for graduates of Central School in Romulus N.Y. where his wife was a longtime teacher.
