"To the Crain Family, A friend and fishing buddy of long ago, Vic Bjork, contacted me two days ago with this sad news. This brought back a flood of memories of Johnnie!?. I long considered him a fine friend and one of the toughest opponents in the Muscatine Bass Club! He was always there to help anyone with fishing expertise or a kind word. I always remember his soft, southern accent and smile. He was a very positive figure in my life and am saddened to hear of your loss. I pray the Good Lord welcomed him to that crystal lake in the sky, where the bass are big, the sunrises are beautiful and you are able to put more back than you take. Johnnie was a true giver!??. But I know the guys that welcomed him home realize now, that the bass here on earth, have been given a little rest. Johnnie, my friend, you will be missed but heaven has given you rest. I?ll see you again in heaven and hopefully the Good Lord will let us reminisce some of the old times. God Bless you brother and I thank God He put you in my life so long ago...it was a Blessing!? ?Cork? Battey Keosauqua, Iowa"
