Richard "Dick" Ruge, 90, of Fort Dodge died on June 28, 2019 at his home surrounded by family.
Visitation is Thursday, July 11 from 5:00 to 7:00 pm at Laufersweiler's Funeral Home, Fort Dodge. Services will be held on Friday, July 12th at 11:00 am, at First Presbyterian Church 1111 Fifth Avenue North Fort Dodge - with visitation for the hour preceding the funeral. A noon luncheon will follow the service at the church.
Dick was born on May 21, 1929. He graduated from Fort Dodge Senior High in 1948. He served 6 months in the Air Force. He was united in marriage to C. Adeline Halligan on August 1, 1949 at the Little Brown Church, Nashua, Iowa. He worked with his brother at the Brake and Alignment business on Third Street, on the railroad as a brakeman, as an electrician for Paul Electric and retired from his own business, Ruge Electric.
Dick was an active member of Noon Lions.
He is survived by his wife, C. Adeline (Halligan) and children Linda (Marshel) Rossow, Chris (Anny) Ruge, Sherrie Palmer (John Sunner), Kyle (Sherry) Ruge, and Joe (Linda) Ruge and his sister, Sally (Larry) Buchan. He has 17 grandchildren and 15 great-grandchildren and counting.
He was preceded in death by his father, mother, brother, in-laws, son, Jim.
Memorials may be left to the discretion of the family.
