Grant Patrick Giddings
May 15, 1955 - June 29, 2019

Grant Patrick Giddings, 64, of Hampton, Iowa, passed away Saturday, June 29, 2019, at MercyOne North Iowa Medical Center in Mason City. He was born on May 15, 1955, in Webster City, to Robert A. and Jacque L. (Ford) Giddings.

Grant graduated from Hampton High School and graduated from Mankato State University with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Art Education. He was united in marriage to Michelle Behn on October 23, 1976, at Trinity Lutheran Church in Hampton. To this union two children were born Bradi and Josh.

Grant owned and operated Giddings Signs in Hampton. He began as a self-taught sign painter prior to his education at Mankato State and continued creating a variety of signs and lettering throughout the area for over thirty years. He was passionate in his art and was a perfectionist at his work. He truly loved what he did.

Grant was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church in Hampton. He was a handyman and enjoyed working on home projects. Grant loved music and had a large collection. He was also an avid Patriots fan.

Grant loved his family, enjoyed spending time with his grandchildren at their sports events and also enjoyed kids at grandma camp. He was loved by so many and will be dearly missed.

Grant is survived by his wife Michelle Giddings of Hampton, daughter Bradi (Greg) Moore of Hampton, and their daughter Avery, and son Josh (Shelly) Giddings of Decorah, and their children Ian, Tate and Cora. He is also survived by his father Robert Giddings of Hampton, brother Greg (Pam) Giddings of Hampton, sister Tracey (Larry) Meyer of Hampton, brother Graham Giddings of Hampton, brother Corey Giddings of Walford, along with numerous nieces, nephews, extended relatives and friends.

Grant was preceded in death by his mother Jacque Giddings, infant brother John and infant sister Melody.


Burial will take place in the Trinity Lutheran Church Cemetery, rural Hampton.
