In loving memory of

Coleby James Paulson
June 12, 1989 - June 27, 2019

Coleby J "Cole" Paulson, 30, of Grass Valley, CA, died unexpectedly on Thursday, June 27, 2019.

Cole was born on June 12, 1989. He graduated from Warsaw High School in 2007. He attended Kettering University in Flint, Michigan, graduating with a Mechanical Engineering degree. He was a member of the Pi Kappa Alpha. He worked at Becton Dickenson in Canaan, Connecticut, a medical device company, while in college. After college, he was employed by BioMet Orthopedics, Inc. in Salt Lake City, Utah, where he was on a team that perfected knee replacements. Cole then worked for Toolbox Medical Innovations in Carlsbad, California, developing new medical equipment. Cole also started his own company, Augment Consulting Corporation.

Cole had many accomplishments and adventures in his short life here on Earth. He was an Eagle Scout and through scouting grew a love for the outdoors. He began traveling afar at the young age of 18, when he joined Sister Cities and traveled to Japan. He thoroughly enjoyed meeting people of all cultures and backgrounds. His traveling continued throughout his life. He had been to Germany, Mexico, China, France and many other European countries, not to mention all of the places he had traveled within the United States. Cole made thoughtfulness a part of everyday life. One never knew if they would receive a surprise card, letter, gift, phone call or visit from him. He was a very free spirit who always wore a smile and lived life to its fullest. He was a bookworm, a rock climber, a mountain biker, a snow skier, an adventurer, a lover of all things in nature, an avid music festival attendee, but most of all; he was an inspiration and a dear friend to many. He will be greatly missed.

Cole is survived by his parents; Joy, and Ernie of Warsaw, IL, two brothers; Lathem of Hamilton, IL., Jesse Miller-Paulson of Waterloo, IA, one sister; Casey Cooper of Galloway, Ohio, maternal grandmother; Betty Sparrow of Warsaw, paternal grandmother; Teresa Ott of Sun City, Arizona, one aunt; Doris Modglin of San Francisco, California, three uncles; John Paulson of Newton, Iowa, Bill Walte of Springfield, Oregon, and Jason Sparrow of Keokuk, and several cousins.

He was preceded in death by grandfathers; Jim Kirkpatrick, Gaylen Sparrow and Don Paulson.
