Margarito G. Cavazos

WESLACO - Margarito G. Cavazos, 85, passed away on Tuesday, July 2, 2019, at Knapp Medical Center in Weslaco. He was born on December 28, 1933, to Armando Gomez Cavazos and Florinda Garza in Teran, Mexico. He married his wife, Maria Concepcion Reyes, in 1955. They migrated to the United States and settled in Weslaco where they raised eight children together. Margarito was very driven and had a strong work ethic and was able to become a successful farmer. He worked his entire life and didn't believe in retirement, even when he was ill. He was a natural salesperson and after he worked from sun up to sun down to produce his crops and then went out on the road to sell them himself. Some of his most successful produce were pickles, watermelon, and sugarcane, to name a few. He also raised cattle and numerous animals on his ranch. His hobby was working, and he was a great provider to his wife, and children always striving to give them a better life than he had. He also enjoyed hunting, fishing, and spending time with his grandchildren.
Margarito is preceded in death by his parents, Armando and Florinda Cavazos. He is survived by his loving with of 64 years, Maria Concepcion, children, San Juanita Cavazos, Jose Luis Cavazos (Maria Olga), Margarito Cavazos Jr. (Cristina), Oscar Cavazos, Jaime Cavazos (Concepcion), Amanda Cavazos (Alberto Rios+), Aleida Izaguirre (Homero), Flor Salazar (Frank), grandchildren, Karla De Leon, Jose Luis (Joey) Cavazos, Alberto Rios , Joey Izaguirre, Yadira Cavazos, Jenny Izaguirre, Daniel Cavazos, Vanessa Cavazos, Adrian Cavazos, Eduardo Rios, Zoraida Cavazos, Arely Cavazos, Abigail Cavazos, Mike Cavazos, Alex Cavazos, Valerie Cavazos, Stefan Salazar, Alicia Cavazos, Aleah Salazar, Jaime Cavazos Jr, Naomi Salazar, Great grandchildren, Victor De Leon, Vianney De Leon, Valeria De Leon, Cristian Mireles, Aislynn Cavazos, Jimena Cavazos, Daniel Cavazos Jr, Joe Dominic Cavazos, Nicholas Cavazos, Jaxson Cavazos, Alyson Cavazos.
Visitation will be held on Thursday, July 4th, 2019 9am-9pm, prayer service 7pm. Graveside service will be held on Friday, July 5th, 2019 at Sacred Park Cemetery in Mercedes.
