Braden Lee William Wheeler was born on June 10, 1996 in Omaha, Nebraska, the son of Ronald Lee and Debra Lee (Gutschenritter) Wheeler. Fondly known as "Brady", he grew up in Glenwood, Iowa, graduating from Glenwood High School, Class of 2014. Following high school, Brady attended Iowa Western Community College in Council Bluffs, Iowa, where he graduated with a degree in Construction Technology.

Brady continued to further his education by gaining valuable knowledge from his employment at Loess Hills Renovations, while attending UNO as a full-time student. He was set to graduate in Construction Management this spring. Brady had a talent and enthusiasm for construction design. He could be found building a deck, tiling a bathroom, or remodeling a kitchen. He took great pride in his work and possessed a strong work ethic.

Brady was a sports enthusiast who excelled in baseball, basketball, soccer, track, and cross country during his high school years. He earned the "Glenwood Distinguished Athletic Award," lettering in 13 varsity sports. He continued his love for sports, playing slow pitch softball and golf. Most important to Brady was his close circle of friends. He was a wonderful son, a great brother, and a good friend to all who knew and loved him.

Brady passed away on July 11, 2019 at the age of 23 years, 1 month, and 1 day. He fought a courageous battle against Brain Cancer. He lived by the quote of Stuart Scott, "When you die, it does not mean that you lose to cancer. You beat cancer by how you live, why you live, and the manner in which you live." His family and friends, #WheelerWarriors, can attest to his fighting spirit and determination. All are comforted, knowing his dad, Ron, was waiting with open arms to continue the game of catch they both so loved.

He was preceded in death by his father Ron, his grandparents, Delmus and Patricia Gutschenritter, and Carl and Donna Wheeler.

Brady is survived by his mother Debra Wheeler of Glenwood; brother Kyle Lee Wheeler of Chicago, IL; extended relatives; and a host of friends.

"We don?t know why God takes the life of one so young. Although I didn?t know Brady, I have a son the same age. Just know that he is with his Dad now as well as his Grandparents on both sides. I have great memories of our days at South Page with Ron, my classmate, and Deb, my cousin. I know you raised your boys Deb to be great men and he will be sorely missed on this Earth, but think of all of those little kids he gets to throw the ball to in Heaven. God needed that kind of helper for the little kids. Let that bring both of you comfort. Hugs to you both Deb and Kyle. Doris Christen (Christensen)"
