"When Mason was a very small child living in the Des Moines, IA area, him and his brother, Satchel, used have their toys strewn all over the bedroom. Kar would say 'Mason and Satchel, you need to pick up your toys'. Mason would feverishly go to work getting the toys picked up like he was he was in a race with Satchel. The competitiveness was so apparent at a very early age and it was easy to see that he wanted to do the job and please his mom. He is still here so long as his memories exist. He is in your embrace Dave and Kar, hold on tightly to him. He accomplished many wonderful things in his lifetime because of your love and help."

"I never had the Joy of meeting Mason. However, I felt I knew him through his GrandMother, Carolyn, my Sister. She would tell me stories of his visits with her and Wally. His constant 'jabber', and Wally engaging him with sincere intensity. About walking him home from playtime. She delighted in telling the story of their trip to California last year. We laughed and laughed at his shenanigans. She couldn't say enough about how kind and gentle he was. His quick wit and joy of learning and so much more. My deep thoughts and prayers are with all of you during this most difficult time. I send my condolences to you for myself and my Children, Lisa Van Horn, Tresa Watson, Tedd Gagen and Joseph Bathalter, III. Aunt Joyce"
