Clayton Wyatt Lemmons was born on March 25, 1956 in Lincoln, Kansas. He moved to Southern California as an infant and grew up attending school in the San Fernando Valley and later in Saugus. He graduated from William S Hart High School in Newhall in 1974. After high school, Wyatt went into the Navy and was discharged in 1978. Following the Navy, he began his career in the aerospace industry working at Lockheed Burbank. During this time Wyatt renewed his friendship with fellow Hart High graduate, Connie Herbertson, when they both were on the Lockheed softball team in the Spring of 1982. The whirlwind romance continued with a Las Vegas elopement on December 4, 1982.
Wyatt attended College of the Canyons, earning the equivalent of an AA degree during his first years of marriage. They moved into their first home in Canyon Country in 1984 and soon afterwards, had their sons Robert Jay in 1985, and Andrew Bryan in 1986. For Connie and Wyatt, their sons were the most important people in their lives. In 1990, Connie and Wyatt moved to Seattle area with new employment opportunities at Boeing. They have lived in the Seattle area continuously except for a brief time in Georgia. Wyatt, our beloved husband, father and friend died in his home on July 12, 2019 from cancer.
Wyatt had many hobbies and interests. He owned an engineering and manufacturing company. He enjoyed golfing and bought a home in Arizona to golf year round. He enjoyed motorcycling, firearms, traveling, and boating. His laid back disposition made him a favorite among his friends and family.
Wyatt was preceded in death by his parents, Harold Jay "Bud" and Patricia Marie Lemmons, and his brother Theodore Ray "Ted". He is survived by his wife, Connie, and his sons Robert Jay and Andrew Bryan, daughters-in-law Ashley and Emily, grandchildren Evelyn and Dylan, brother and sister-in-law Eric "Jay" and Christina of Sacramento, his sister Kay Marie Lemmons of Enterprise, Kansas, sister-in-law Roberta Herbertson, and sister-in-law and husband Regina and Robert Montgomery. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews who loved and adored him. Wyatt will be dearly missed until we meet again.
A celebration of life for Wyatt is planned for August 24.
