In loving memory of

Keith Andrew Halen
June 13, 1967 - July 23, 2019

Halen, Keith Andrew age 52 of Lino Lakes.

Keith passed away on July 23rd. He served in the US Army from 1986-1989, and graduated from Gustavus Adolphus College shortly after that, in 1992. Keith was employed as a Portfolio Manager at US Bank for 12 years; in the later years adding senior vice president to that title. His quick wit and dry humor will forever be missed. Behind his stoic countenance, he always had a genuine intention, with a passion for everything from Labradors to football. We hope you're making all the beef stew you can wherever you may be now.

"When in Keith's presence, you could be yourself. I consider myself fortunate for having known him during the last several years while worked together on client teams at the bank. Keith typically avoided using unnecessary words in meetings, unless it was an attempt to make someone laugh, which was usually successful. His exchanges with clients and colleagues were genuine. His professional demeanor was patient and kind. One of my favorite memories of Keith demonstrates how much he loved and cared for his family. Keith told me and a client about an Amazon commercial that was on during the previous Holiday season called Dad's Favorite Song. He said the first time he saw the commercial he broke down in tears thinking about his daughter Shannon going off to college this Fall. Later I heard him tell the story again and he admitted to re-watching the commercial several times. I have felt many emotions since Keith's passing and am left today with the feeling that he will be missed by many people, including me, for a long time. May he rest in peace. "

Dan Farley wrote on Jul 30, 2019:

" Keith was a wonderful colleague and will be greatly missed by his co-workers in Private Wealth Management. He was an articulate, talented investment professional whose work ethic, intelligence and genuine care for clients made everyone around him better. Even in sadness I cannot help but to smile when I think of Keith's kindness and his sense of humor. We will miss him greatly. Rest in peace, Keith, and from one soldier to another, I will see you on the high ground. "

Pamela Arnold wrote on Jul 29, 2019:

"My family and I have had the pleasure of working with Keith at USBank for many years. He was a solid advisor, always prepared, and ready with information to broaden our knowledge and respect for his unique delivery (candor, rye wit, and flawless research). We grew very fond of Keith, laughed when it was the right time, while respecting his firm professionalism. Out trust grew, as did Keith's, as he shared his love for dogs (skepticism for roaming deer), his beautiful daughter and his wife whom we've not met but feel we know through Keith's enormous respect and love (it was evident). These qualities, and his many successes on our behalf, etched Keith into our hearts. We send our condolences to his family, and his colleagues who must feel the giant loss of a humble, reliable, and really quite wonderful human being. We are so very sorry for the loss of Keith Halen."

"My heart goes out to you. Keith?s loss leaves a very large hole in so many lives. I had the privilege of working with Keith both in St. Paul and Minneapolis. While I always enjoyed his humor and his subtle style, what struck me most about him was his genuinely good heart. He thought about those with whom he was working with spot-on perspective. I was touched by his genuine care and concern, especially for those most in need."

Jan Loula wrote on Jul 29, 2019:

"Keith was a wonderful guy to work with. He would always take time to answer my sometimes, stupid questions; he would laugh and tease me in his dry- humor sort of way. He always made me smile and was quite the jokster in the office, usually wearing a mischievous grin. Keith came across as very serious but I knew that underneath all that was a very kind, gentle and generous man with deep faith in God. Patrice and Shannon, you were his focus and I know he loved you very much. Keith was a dear friend and I will miss him."

Jayne Ellegard wrote on Jul 27, 2019:

"Patrice and Shannon, my heart goes out to you. We all knew how much he loved you both. He always had stories to share about the many weekend adventures the three of you would take. Keith was a wonderful friend and colleague. If I was having a bad day, I went looking for Keith, who could always pick up my spirits and make me laugh with his dry humor. He liked to present a tough exterior, but for all of us who knew him, saw the teddy bear that he really was. He will be missed greatly. ?"

"Keith was a beloved friend & co-worker, at times a drole jokester, who was gentle and strong at the same time. Keith was a child of God. Patrice and Shannon, I know he loved you very much, because he talked about you at work. There are lots of us supporting you with our prayers and sympathetic thoughts -- for your peace and for the relief of your suffering. You are both part of a legacy that is very strong and good, please never forget that. "
