Gilbert Guzman
June 5, 1949 - July 27, 2019

Gilbert Guzman, son of the late David Ledesma and late Benediction (Beneda) Berrios Ledesma, was born on June 5, 1949 at Queens General Hospital in Queens, New York. Gilbert was raised in New York City and for a short time in Las Piedras, Puerto Rico alongside his brother Peter. In 1967, he graduated from Food & Maritime Trades High School in New York, NY.

Gil was a career Systems Analyst for The Xerox Corporation in Manhattan for over 30 years. He also worked for more than 15 years at Academy Bus driving daily between Jackson, NJ and New York, NY.

He was united in holy matrimony to Angela Maria Almodovar on September 7, 1980. He lived a majority of his life between The Bronx, New York and Ocean County, New Jersey with his wife Angela and children Aaron, Michelle, Christopher & David. Throughout his life Gilbert was a devoted Born Again Christian. Gil was steadfast in his faith to God and the teachings of his son Jesus Christ.

Gilbert passed away on July 27, 2019 at Newark Beth Israel Medical Center in Newark, New Jersey at the age of 70.

His beautiful life will forever be honored and cherished by his loving wife Angela Maria Almodovar-Guzman of Toms River, NJ; his children Michelle Marie Betancourt of Toms River, NJ, Aaron Gabriel Guzman of Racine, WI; his twin boys Christopher David Guzman of Toms River, NJ, David Christopher Guzman of Toms River, NJ; his grandchildren Gillian Lei Guzman, Samantha Maria Guzman, Gabrielle Ann Guzman, Lillie Marie Guzman; his brother Peter Guzman of Henrico,VA; and his sister Carmen Bosch of San Juan, Puerto Rico.

Services for Gilbert Guzman will be held at Horizon Funeral & Cremation Services, 1329 Route 37 W, Toms River, NJ on Saturday, August 10, 2019 from 3:00 PM to 5:00 PM, followed by a Repast.
