In loving memory of

Scott Randall Brockway
November 9, 1965 - July 22, 2019

Just before dawn on a hot July morning, a gentle soul slipped the surly bonds of earth and winged its way to heaven. Freed from his body and earthly woes, Scott Brockway was greeted by all who had gone before him, waiting with open arms to comfort him. Wrapped in their protective care, he will never be alone again. Now those of us left behind must continue without him.
Scott Randall Brockway, 53, unexpectedly left us on July 22, 2019 in West Easton Borough, Pennsylvania. Scott was born in Burlington, Iowa on November 9, 1965 to Randy and Marcia Lynn Yohe Brockway. In his early years, Scott lived in Iowa, Puerto Rico, Missouri and California then graduated from high school in North Carolina. He joined the Navy in 1985 where he met Gina Andaloro from New Jersey. They married in 1985 and had two beautiful daughters Mallory and Alexandra. Scott and Gina later divorced and remained friends. Scott worked for New Jersey Bell/Verizon for 30 years.
So many plans for the future died with Scott but he will be remembered as a man who loved his children, family and friends, his cats, Harley Davidson motorcycles, deer hunting, his Grandpa Yohe's farm, Des Moines County and family history. He enjoyed cooking and was quite good at it. He planted a garden and raised chickens for several years and completed many do-it-yourself projects at his home. He was an outdoors man with a sensitive side and we will miss him always.
Survivors include daughters Mallory Brockway (Jay Dunn) and Alexandra Brockway (Colin Davis); mother and step-father Lynn and Bill Kopatich; former wife, Gina Marie Brockway (Anthony DiCastelnuovo); grandchildren, Brynn, Jay-Jay, Brielle, Isla and Beckham; brother, Christopher and Polly McMillen ; step-father and wife, Scott and Merrellyn McMillen; Gina's parents, Andy Andaloro and Joyce Andaloro; special aunt and uncle, Bob and Virginia Orton; two half-sisters, Kristi Lumbeck and Lori Selassie, many cousins, nieces, nephews and friends.
Scott was preceded in death by his father, Randy Brockway, Vietnam 1969; his grandparents, brother Mike Peters and uncles David and Tad Day.
A service in remembrance of Scott will be held at Lunning Chapel, Burlington, Iowa on August 3 with visitation at 10 am and service following at 11 am. In accordance with his wishes, Scott will be buried in rural Des Moines County Dolbee Cemetery near his Brockway ancestors.
In memory of Scott, a memorial is suggested to the Wolfhound Veteran Association Inc, 6240 High County Dr., Helena, Montana 59602, or by visiting http://wolfhounds2nd27th.org/donate-to-the-wolfhounds

"Lynn, We go back many, many years, but have not talked much recently. I guess time and life just have a way of making that happen. I?m very glad you let me know about Scott, and I am so sorry for your loss. I enjoyed seeing the pictures of happier times. When I think of Scott, memories go back to his childhood. I remember him, probably 2, standing in the front seat of the car, slightly behind your shoulder, saying ?Go car, go!! Obviously before the days of car seats. We were still kind of crazy kids ourselves back then. I didn?t see much of Scott as an adult, but from talking with you thru the years and reading the other tributes here, it is obvious he grew up to be a kind and wonderful young man. I hope that knowledge will bring some comfort. Marilyn Stevens "

"I loved Scottie like a brother. We could talk about things that I could with no other. We had a special connection and understanding of love of family. He was my sisters husband and was the best brother a girl could ever ask for. Scottie was a great friend, jokester, father to my children, and one of the most brilliant guys I knew. Anything Scottie put his mind to, He could achieve. He even let me help him rebuild an engine, took me on my first death defying motorcycle ride, spent many occasions dancing and singing great 80?s tunes, and made me my first delicious deer meal! I will always adore you Scottie my brother.. Your bestie Sister, Always, CaraMia"

"I was honored to meet Scott while attending my husband Steve's Wolfhound reunion several years ago. Randy was killed before Steve was deployed in June to Vietnam so they never knew each other, but we have many common friends & family. Scott always dropped by our home in Danville when he visited Iowa. He'd proudly show Steve a picture of his latest bow kill and went to our cabin to see where Steve hunts. I looked forward to his visits as he was such a special young man. We'll miss that call asking if we'd be home to see him."

"I met Scott through my younger brother. They came to visit for a week to fix things at my home (since I am a widow). He quickly became a part of the family. He came as my brothers friend & left as my other little brother. He came by my house several times on his way to Iowa. He will be greatly missed. Rest in peace little brother."

"Scott was a neighbor but quickly became family. We shared many laughs together and recently Sunday dinners became a tradition for us and my family. My sweet babies still look for him and we talk about him often. My husband lost his best friend, my children an "uncle" and me...my sweet friend. He told us many stories of his beautiful daughters, his ex wife (fondly) and his grandfathers farm... Our last memory was feeding the deer together in his back yard. Laughing and smiling...RIP my dear friend."
