"I worked with Joan at the Spring Valley Hospital approximately 1974-1979ish, I can't remember if she was still there when I left to work at the clinic in 1979. Those were the days of Karen Rollie, Jo Fitzgerald, June Mathison, Becky Martin, Jeanie Moon, Pat Gartner, Dorothy Lassig, Delores Erickson, Betty Lindsay in the lab etc etc.
We always had a lot of fun but took our jobs seriously. We had 7 doctors then: Matson, Snyder, Sauer, Nehring, Morse, Mori and one more I can't remember the name.
Joan always worked hard and was sincere, kind and caring. Bless her memory.

"Returning to work at E-10 in the early 1980's, I met Joan. She had stories galore of life in the Bamber Valley area, and as I walk in the neighborhood, these pines, those apple trees - the few that remain after these many years, that house, they have a particular presence for me through her reminiscences. I have passed on these stories to my neighbors, stories that enrich our community. I am sorry to hear of her passing, and I hope your many memories of Joan will bring you some comfort. My very warmest condolences to you and her family, Margritt Rodriguez"
