Mavis R. Rausch

RAUSCH
Mavis Reone Rausch, 87, of Rochester, passed away Friday, August 2, 2019 at Edenbrook of Rochester.
Mavis was born March 24, 1932 in Cherry Grove Township, Goodhue County, MN to John and Alice (Rice) Nicol. After graduating high school, Mavis went on to the Kahler School of Nursing. After nursing school, she began working at the Colonial Building and the Methodist Hospital. She worked as a registered nurse and retired after 40 years of service. Mavis married Robert Rausch on May 30, 1954 at the First Baptist Church in Rochester. Mavis and Bob loved camping or traveling in their RV. Mavis enjoyed doing crafts, crocheting and had amazing sewing skills. She loved going for early morning walks, helping keep her neighborhood clean and kept a watchful eye in her neighborhood. Mavis took in the beauty of the wildlife around her, feeding and watching the birds. She always had a tight knit bond with her sisters, and loved her family. She was meticulous, strong willed and always liked to look her best.
Mavis is survived by her children, Gene (Lisa) Rausch of Fairfax, VA, Glenn (Linda) Rausch, Jerry (Rusti) Rausch, Gary Rausch, Glenda (John Predmore) Rausch all of Rochester; 6 grandchildren; 7 great-grandchildren and 3 sisters, Mary (James) Moffit, Rosalie Rollins and Shirley (Harold) Hilpipre. Mavis was preceded in death by her husband, Bob and by her parents.
A memorial service celebrating the lives of Mavis and Robert will be held 1:00 p.m. Friday, August 16, 2019 at Ranfranz and Vine Funeral Homes, 5421 Royal Place NW, Rochester. Visitation will be from 12:00 p.m. until time of the service. Inurnment of both Mavis and Robert will be held at Grandview Memorial Gardens.
