Ellen Marie Vos
February 22, 1942 - August 3, 2019

Ellen Marie Vos, 77, of Mt. Pleasant, formerly of Morrison, Illinois,
died Saturday, August 3, 2019 at her home in Mt. Pleasant. She was born February 22, 1942 in Sterling, Colorado to Russell LeRoy and Beulah Viola Pevler Bruhn. She married Larry Vos. He died in November 2018.
Ellen was a graduate of Blakesburg High School. She worked in housekeeping at Morrison Hospital for 33 years and was of the Lutheran faith.
She loved her dog, Blackie, collecting sunflowers, going for lunch and shopping with Ginger, and was enjoying her new apartment and furniture.
Survivors include her children; Ginger (Brad) Huston of Danville, Holly (Steve) Copeland of Hedrick, Scott (Kelli) Vos of Cumming, Georgia, Gina (Kevin) Varner of Clinton and Darren Vos of Morrison, Illinois; ten grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; one sister Ruby (Randy Burton) Bruhn of Blakesburg, and two nieces. Besides her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by two sisters, Myrna Wade and Patricia Tadlock; one grandson, and one nephew.
Visitation for Mrs. Vos will begin at 3 p.m. Wednesday at Elliott Chapel, New London with the family receiving friends from 5 - 8 p.m. Memorials have been established for Iowa Donor Network and Crohns Disease. Online condolences may be left at www.elliottfuneralchapel.com.

"I worked with Larry in the Maint. Dept for 19 years also Ellen at Morrison Hospital. The first of every month we had a little game of who could be the first to say rabbit,rabbit,rabbit which was supposed bring good luck. So Ellen,last time rabbit, rabbit,rabbit!!!"
