"Ken was my farrier as long as I had horses in Cookeville - he saw me go through quite a few, and not all of them were worthy of his talent. I bought a three year old gelding he told me about called "Hammer" (because the horse had been hit with a hammer once). I renamed him Trigger (and I still have him). Ken referred my husband to a man who had a horse trailer, and on my birthday that's where my horse trailer came from. And Ken told me how I ought to build my barn, and that's how I built my barn. He told me his son Brian did tile, so Brian did the tile in my house. And Ken told me a lot of other things between trimming a foot and cups of coffee. I've imitated his "There you are" to my friends, and when I had to move, I tried for a year to find a farrier close to as good as Ken was. I found one who's close, but not quite the same. I'm so sorry to hear of his suffering and the family's loss. My prayers are with you. He talked so much about his family all the time - especially Thelma and the time she flew off a horse, and how she and his stallion "had an understanding" at feeding time. It was truly a blessing to know Ken, Paul, Stephanie, and the family. I'm so sorry we don't have Ken with us any more. Keep telling his stories."

"Mr.Ken was my Ferrier for 3 or more years when I lived in Cookeville. He was a kind, sweet man. I took a photo of him one day while taking a coffee break. Prayers for your family. "
