Donald Arnold Doehrmann
February 28, 1943 - August 10, 2019

Williamsburg-Donald Arnold Doehrmann was born February 28, 1943 at home in Troy township, Iowa County, Iowa. The son of Arnold and Lillie (Glandorf) Doehrmann. He was baptized on March 2, 1943 at Immanuel Lutheran Church and confirmed on June 9, 1957 at St. Paul Lutheran Church. He attended Lutheran Interparish School and graduated from Williamsburg High School in 1961. Don was united in marriage to JoAnne Elizabeth Niehaus on April 4, 1964 at St. Matthew's Lutheran Church in Dubuque. Don has worked for Williamsburg Body Shop, Gordon Hinrichs Construction, Sherwood Motor Supply, Red's Auto Supply until retiring, when he started Don's Handyman Business. He was a member of St. Paul Lutheran Church in Williamsburg where he has served as an elder, cemetery overseer and currently was a trustee. Don was on the Williamsburg Fire Department for 23 years, in which he served as assistant chief. He enjoyed fishing, hunting, playing cards and spending time with his family and friends. Don passed away Saturday, August 10, 2019 at home with his family around him at the age of 76.


He is survived by his wife of 55 years JoAnne; two children, Gary (Susan) Doehrmann of Waverly and Connie (Rich) Becker of Neshkoro, WI; three grandchildren, Kyle Doehrmann, Tyler Doehrmann and Elli Becker; a sister, LaVerne (Bob) Brandt of Reedsville, WI; a brother, Gerald (Teri) Doehrmann of Minier, IL; a sister-in-law, Jan (Mike) Malloy of Williamsburg and many nieces and nephews. He is preceded in death by his parents, brothers Gene Doehrmann 2002, Allan Doehrmann 2018 and a sister-in-law Marcella Doehrmann 2015.

Celebration of Life Service will be 10:30 am Saturday, August 17, 2019 at the St. Paul Lutheran Church in Williamsburg. Burial will be at St. Paul Lutheran Church Cemetery. Visitation will be from 3:00 to 7:00 pm on Friday at the Powell Funeral Home in Williamsburg. Memorials are for St. Paul Lutheran Church, Lutheran Interparish School or Essence of Life Hospice.
