In loving memory of

Valney Ebanks
August 23, 1941 - August 12, 2019

On August 12, 2019, it pleased God to have Valney return to his heavenly home. So today we celebrate the life, legacy, memories and the homecoming of our angel, Valney Ebank (Uncle Valney).

Valney Ambrose Ebanks was born August 23, 1941 in Saint Elizabeth, Jamaica West Indies, to Gladridge Ebanks (Ambi) and Evadney Trenchfield. Val did not know his mother who died three days after he was born. She died from complications due to child birth. He was raised by his Grandparents Florence and John Ebanks along with his two older sisters, Doris and Elometer. He loved these two girls and they were his life, he became the protective little brother.

In 1965 Valney migrated to the USA, where he landed a job working as a Life Insurance Agent at Merrill Lynch in New York, he continued his education at Brooklyn College going to school at nights where he received his Bachelors.

The first thing that you would see on Val was his big smile, he was always smiling and happy. He was even happier when he brought his sister Elometer, her husband Linton along with their children Mark and Annie to the U.S.A. Again, he was that brother taking care of his sister and her family. Mark and Annie became his world, he was like a father to them and guided them throughout life. Annie was proud to have her Uncle Val walk her down the aisle when she got married.

In 2014, he moved to Florida along with his nephew Mark, when Val got sick Mark became his caretaker for the last seven years, when it became too much for one person to handle, it was only fitting that Annie came to be with the man who was like a father to her.

Val is survived by his siblings, Doris, Juliet, Clevert and Morene and a host of nieces, nephews and many other family members. He is predeceased by his siblings Esmie, Glenn, Vinton and Elometer.
