Dewitt E. Chessman, 84 of Fort Lauderdale, Florida, passed away on Monday from an incurable blood disease.
Services are undecided for the time being.
Dewitt was born in Macclenny, Florida September 1934. He graduated from Macclenny High-School in 1953. He served in the United States Army from 1954-1956, receiving an Honorable Discharge.
Dewitt worked for 37.5 years for AT&T as a power technician. He enjoyed traveling, Disney World, Football and Golf. He was a lifetime member of Telephone Pioneers of America.
Dewitt was married in September 1972 for 47 years to his wife Delores.
Dewitt is survived by his spouse Delores and his children Steve, Mitchell A., and step-daughter Melanie; also, grandchildren Mitchell E. and wife Rachel, Kenneth and Wife, Charlie and Kyra. Lastly, three great-grandchildren Elijah, Ezekiel and Nora Ivie.
