Gary Cannon wrote on Aug 24, 2019:

"I am so sorry to hear of Bill's passing. When my wife and I got married in 1966 we lived in Carson for a few years. Bill cut my hair all the time we lived there. Bill and I had many conversations about solving the worlds problems. He had a great sense of humor. He was a real pillar in the community and since he was older by a few years I always looked up to him. He will be missed. Gary Cannon 18002 N. 132nd Ct. Sun City West, AZ 85375"

Jon Mitchell wrote on Aug 21, 2019:

"My family moved to town in Avoca when I was in the 3rd grade & soon after I got a paper route. Bill was my first boss as he worked for the World Herald. Through the years I would stop in Oakland for a haircut & to visit, or would see Bill at parades where he would be riding his horse. Years later I was also worked with his brother Gary in Council Bluffs. I will be forever grateful for the lessons Bill taught me about working and life, Jon Mitchell."

"Bill was an exceptional man....I was lucky to have known him as my friend....for about the last 10 years I got to know Bill by seeing him sometimes twice a day, while he cared and loved his horses he kept in my pasture....we had many conversations about life, and after life....he never let his declining health get him down.....he was strong in his faith, and his love abounded for his wife..... I will miss my good friend, but Bill, I will see you again.....hope there are horses in heaven!"

"Bill was a one of a kind!! He always had a smile for everyone. I remember sitting in his shop as a little girl waiting while Dad got his hair cut. Or he'd be riding his horse busy with rodeo things. His smile always brings a smile to my face. He will be missed."
